You can never totally prevent stains from getting on your carpet. Accidents will always occur and spills will happen which will stain the carpet. All that you can really do is efficiently clean the mess effectively and efficiently. One thing you should always keep in mind when cleaning out a stain, always blot out the stain from the outside inwards. • Ensure you pick up any debris from the carpet without smearing and dispose of them. If the stain is wet blot it out repeatedly until the area is dry and the stain is removed.
• If the stain is already dried on the carpet, wet the area and then apply a stain removal treatment specifically for pet stains.
• To get rid of the odor and the stain try using white vinegar or white wine solution.  Mix a squat of warm water with ¼ cup of vinegar or white wine and spray on the stained area. Leave the solution to settle for a few minutes and the blot until the area is dry and the stain is gone.
• You can also mix a few squats of stain removal detergent and water and spray on affected area and let it soak for sometime then blot it out.

Removing coffee stains

• Blot the spill with a white towel and ensure you do not spread the spillage
• Try a mixture of vinegar and water using the spritzer method.
• In case it doesn’t work you can use available stain removers available in the market.

Removing blood stainsWith blood stains you have to deal with them promptly.

• Use cold water to clean out blood stains.
• Mix cold water with 2 teaspoons of grease-fighting liquid dish detergent. Spray the carpet with the mixture generously then blot the spot with a white towel or cloth.
• You can use OxiClean to deal with the blood stain but mix as well as possible with cold water

Removing ink stainsInk stains can cause irrevocable damage when not cleaned promptly and efficiently.

• Pour some isopropyl alcohol onto a clean cloth until its damp. Dab the ink stain using the damp cloth and ensure you avoid scrubbing or rubbing on the stain. Let it settle for a little while then dry it using a wet/dry vacuum.
• You can also use hairspray, nail polish remover or any other products that contain alcohol.
• When you use the above chemicals ensure you rinse with water and blot dry or vacuum dry.
• Before treating the carpet ensure you test the chemical on an inconspicuous section of the carpet for any effects it might have on the fabric.
